Are you finding your IBS symptoms hard to manage? Have you been told to follow a certain diet but not been given any support? On a long waiting list for NHS services but finding the private fees a bit too much?
I am pleased and excited to be starting a regular 3 session programme – Managing your IBS, the low FODMAPs diet- to be held at the Hoylake Parade Comunity Centre, Hoylake, Wirral.

Why your Dietitian really needs you to fill in that food diary

They are a pain, yeah I know, right, but your Dietitian may give you a food diary to complete between visits. This is very likely if you are starting a low FODMAP elimination diet for IBS or an elimination diet for food intolerance testing but you could be asked to complete one of these for many other reasons. We don’t just give these as instruments of torture… honestly! There is a reason behind asking you to complete these and a very good reason to ask you to….please, oh please….fill them out as best as you can. They don’t have to be perfect, just give it your best shot.

FODMAPs - why go it alone?

You may have heard of the low FODMAP diet, the Australian “invented” diet which has an impressive 75% success rate in significantly reducing IBS symptoms. Lately I’ve been quite concerned to hear that a lot of people have been trying to “go it alone” on the low FODMAP diet. I’ve even been hearing from clients that their GPs have diagnosed them with IBS and then suggested they google FODMAPs in order to follow the diet. While following the diet can give such great results, it can also be a confusing and difficult process without the help of a Dietitian.
